Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) in DOT

Overview

FPPS is a federal personnel and payroll system operated by the US Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) in Denver, Colorado to pay employees of client federal agencies, including DOT. The department migrated to FPPS in two stages, nonFAA administrations migrated in April 2005 and FAA migrated in October 2005.

Each DOT Operating Administration (OA) uses FPPS to process personnel and pay actions for their employees and each OA uses the FPPS Datamart for reporting.

The DOT HR Systems Division in the Office of the Secretary is the liaison between DOT and NBC and manages all communications, planning, and operation of FPPS in DOT and all custom configuration and reporting requirements with NBC.
