Blood Donor Program

Overview

Every year since 1999, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has partnered with the American Red Cross to host a bi-monthly Blood Drive. This important partnership serves our communities when they are affected by accidents, surgeries, and other everyday occurrences that require a constant supply of blood donations. With your help, the American Red Cross can continue to meet these needs every day.

According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone needs blood. One person’s blood donation can actually save three or four lives! There is always a need for blood donations in our communities. Your participation is an invaluable part of a successful Blood Drive.

Giving blood is simple—but not a small thing to do. The donation process, from the time you arrive until the time you leave, takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about ten minutes.

Blood Drives occur six times each year. Please contact your Blood Donor Coordinator (see below) for more information, and thank you for your support!
